Leadbitter is delighted to announce that it has established a brand new Scholarship Fund for Construction Undergraduates at Oxford Brookes University.
This scholarship will see Leadbitter providing gifted and talented students wishing to undertake the Construction Management degree course at Oxford Brookes University with much needed financial support and the opportunity to obtain key work experience via a placement year with Leadbitter itself.
Bob Rendell, Managing Director for Leadbitter, commented on the scholarship, which he has named in memory of his father, Frederick Rendell: “I am both delighted and extremely proud to be able to announce the formation of the Frederick Rendell Scholarship which has been created to support academic excellence and access to opportunity within the construction industry. It has been named in memory of my father, who was one of the co-founders of our company back in 1971 and whom having spent much of his life in the construction industry I know would have been fully supportive of this initiative. Joining with Oxford Brookes is an excellent way for us, and the University, to show our commitment to the very highest standards in everything we do. It’s tremendously exciting to be playing a leading part in helping develop the talent and skills that our industry so greatly needs.”
The Frederick Rendell Scholarship witnesses the continued successful relationship between Leadbitter and Oxford Brookes University. The parties joined together on 7th February 2006, where Professor Graham Upton (Vice Chancellor, Oxford Brookes University) presented Bob Rendell (Managing Director, Leadbitter) with a commemorative certificate to commence the beginning of this important new scholarship.
