A planning approval granted by South Oxfordshire District Council on 10th April 2006 has enabled Leadbitter Construction to commence a major £10m affordable housing project at Station Road, Wallingford for the Bromford Housing Group.
This project comprises the demolition of existing industrial units, the decontamination and remediation of the disused gasworks site and the design and construction of 84 dwellings for rent and shared ownership including a purpose built unit for people with autism and learning difficulties.
John Parry, Social Housing Building Manager for Leadbitter, said “We are delighted to continue our successful relationship with Bromford Housing Group. We have been working in partnership with SODC and Bromford for over two years on bringing this scheme to fruition. We trust that the completed properties will make a substantial contribution to the housing needs in Wallingford”.
