Some of the South West’s leading lights in industry will celebrate St George’s Day at a special event in Bristol this Wednesday (April 23).
Film bosses from Aardman Animation, consulting engineers, architects and construction Clients will gather at The Merchants House in Clifton, Bristol, for a St George’s Day business breakfast.
Guest speaker and former England rugby international and Bath winger David Trick will address the audience of more than 100 during the event between 8am – 9.30am.
The event, staged by construction company Leadbitter, is aimed at celebrating this special day and the achievements of the construction industry in the region.
David Trick said: “I’m thrilled at being given the opportunity to speak to such a high profile delegation – and especially on St George’s Day of all days.
"For some reason our patron Saint doesn’t seem to capture the imagination quite in the same way as perhaps others, which I think is a great shame. Events such as the one being held by Leadbitter are important in redressing this and recognising our national identity."
Rob Bradley, Leadbitter Regional Director, said: “The aim of Leadbitter’s St George’s Day breakfast is to celebrate our patron Saint and all that is great about being English.
"We are fortunate to have such a famous English rugby international as David Trick to headline our celebration with a traditional English breakfast in this very English Bristol Venue."
David Trick was a member of the England squad between 1980 and 1986 and toured Argentina in 1981 and South Africa in 1984. His career with spanned between 1979 and 1991 where he played 247 games and scored 171 tries. |
