Constructed upon the site of an existing waste recycling plant covering 21,000m², Leadbitter demolished existing concrete structures and foundations, retaining crushed concrete and excavated material for re-use. Ground stabilisation techniques were then used to provide a suitable base.
The facility comprised a composite clad steel framed structure providing:-
- Management suite, staff and administration areas, secure cash room and vehicle parts storage facility within a two storey building.
- Workshops for vehicle maintenance with service pits, MOT area, tyre changing, spray booths and upholstery work shop.
- Undercover drive through workshop.
- Two lane recyclable tanked water buses wash serviced by a 20, 000 litre sub terrain tank.
An ancillary building was constructed providing a degreasing area, booth, further stores and rest facilities. In addition an extensive area of concrete roadways and parking areas were provided (circa 13,000m²).
Upon completion the functionality of the facility and its use of the existing waste recycling site, many plaudits have been received. |
