Client: North West London Hospitals NHS Trust

This project comprised an extensive refurbishment of the existing and fully operational Maternity Services Unit. The works essentially involved the demolition and removal of all internal elements, exposing the concrete frame and the external envelope. This was followed by the construction of a state-of-the-art facility from within. These works were carried out over seven floors and four phased sections to maintain the safe operation of the Maternity Unit whilst construction works were ongoing.

The completion of the project has provided modern in- and out-patient facilities, two operating theatres, together with specialist Neo-natal baby care and ultra sound units.

The implementation of effective and open communications between all parties enabled the challenges imposed by the constraints of the existing structure and the safe operation of the Hospital to be managed, with the Leadbitter team playing their part in this process.
