Client: Sport England
Bisham Abbey is a specialist facility used by elite athletes.
The works involved the construction of a dedicated Sports Therapy Building used for the training and treatment of athletes. The main Sports Building was built on the footprint of an existing building, which was demolished at the outset, and connected to an existing indoor tennis facility. This new building accommodates a large twin dojo judo hall, weight training hall, two health and fitness areas, two squash courts, steam room, sauna, changing rooms, management offices and a recreation / bar area.
Externally, facilities include three new clay and four new acrylic tennis courts (floodlighting on the acrylic courts), a flood alleviation area on the adjacent golf course and associated car parking and landscaping.
The project was carried out in several phases and all existing facilities remained in use throughout. |
