Following the refurbishment of existing leisure centre facility together with a new extension, members of the Horfield community in Bristol have been provided with a first class leisure centre. The centre features an eight-lane 25m competition pool with moving floor flexibility, 15m learner pool, state-of-the-art fitness gym, aerobics/dance studio, cafe and viewing area, crèche with outdoor playing area, link to existing sports centre and a skate park, all of which incorporate provisions for disabled users and families.

Existing leisure facilities remained in use throughout the duration of the contract which made it essential that all services remained in continual use and within a safe environment for all staff and centre customers.

This centre was a major part of Bristol City Council’s wider swimming strategy, including the overhaul of the swimming facilities in Bristol, attracting and encouraging more city swimmers.
