Client: Cirencester Brewery Arts
By upgrading a former 19th Century brewery, people in the heart of the Cotswolds and beyond will soon be benefiting from this vibrant new multidisciplinary, fully accessible arts centre
Resident craftspeople will produce stained glass, pottery, felt and furniture. The coffee shop will include servery and kitchen facilities. Exhibition space will be located on the first floor, with provision for further workshops on the second floor. Additional workshops will be located in the courtyard behind the building. Educational programmes will be run from the centre.
The building is in a conservation area and in a high street location, providing limited access. Traditional lime mortar will be used throughout after consultation with English Heritage and the building completely re-roofed using roofing slates and matching roof timbers where required. Oak flooring will be used within the ground floor shop. The shop, toilets and reception area will all benefit from underground heating. |
