The Buckingham Knowledge Centre provides further education and adult learning facilities as a joint venture for the County and District Council of Buckingham. The new build consisted of classrooms, offices, administration resources, toilet facilities and external teaching areas.

The new build was constructed on the site of the old Magistrates’ Courts. Due to the location of the site, condition of the boundary walls, and footprint of the proposed building occupying the majority of the available space, this was a complex and tight construction. Careful planning of deliveries and large plant movement was essential to maintain continual access to a health centre, nursing home and businesses.

The library remained fully open up until the final ten weeks and safe pedestrian access was maintained at all times. The high standard of finishes and continual working relationships with the library staff, the new users and surrounding neighbours ensured a highly satisfactory project.
