Client: Magdalen College
The new quadrangle comprises three buildings around a trapezoidal garden court, raised on a terrace and provides four-storey residential accommodation for the students of Magdalen College.
This accommodation is arranged in linked and freestanding buildings around the quadrangle and all the fixtures and fittings for the bedrooms were purpose designed.
The works involved the use of oak and ashlared stone on brickwork. Roof style and materials varied between buildings with reclaimed stone tiles, lead and copper all utilised.
The project was constructed within the fifteenth century walls of the existing college and was built to the highest standards, in keeping with its historical surroundings. |
