Client: St Anne's College
This project provided 114 en-suite student study bedrooms, full conference and banqueting facilities, including lecture theatre, seminar rooms, refectory facilities and fully serviced kitchen, all enclosed within a five-storey building with sub-basement garden terrace.
Built within a live campus environment, in the rear gardens of existing Edwardian student houses and with a footprint covering three quarters of the site, all materials had to be stored off-site and delivered on a ‘just-in-time’ basis. With the site constrained on four sides by the operational campus, delivery control and site logistics required two tower cranes to be used to service construction activities. Rigid control of site works ensured that the College’s facilities remained fully operational with noisy works scheduled around the College’s examination timetable and conference booking arrangements and handed over via five phases of work.
This project was Leadbitter’s flagship project at the time and was a great success for the company. The Project Team were recognised for their efforts receiving a number of industry accolades. |
