This scheme involved the Design and Build of forty eight respite and intermediate care apartments for elderly persons, including accommodation for those with dementia. Comprehensive communal facilities including common room, commercial/ domestic kitchens, hydrotherapy spa, treatment rooms and IT suite together with staff/carer facilities were incorporated.

The apartments, a combination of flats for sale and for rent, are provided in five traditionally constructed inter-linking blocks, ranging from single to four-storey. An existing Victorian building standing on the site was sympathetically restored and incorporated into the new build element.

Awarded a Certificate of Merit at the Weymouth Civic Society Annual Awards Ceremony, this scheme was recognised for being an attractive, well-designed, and well landscaped extra-care housing complex with thoughtful attention to detail, effectively blending old and new and creating a sense of community.
