This four year framework agreement with Oxford County Council was set up in December 2005 to provide the support and knowledge of a number of contractors and consultants with the intent of obtaining contractor participation in the control of design and cost of Oxford County Council’s four year capital works programme.
The framework is based upon the principles of collaborative working and we are contributing, in conjunction with our specialist supply chain partners, to the resolution of logistical and technical problems associated with the projects under this framework. One example is at Brookside school where we have worked closely with EIC to devise a construction strategy which allows for the existing plant room to be incorporated within the new build and maintained until it can be demolished and services connected to the new plant room during the school holidays. This has brought significant cost and time savings as well as minimised disruption in comparison to the alternative proposal of providing a temporary plant room during the construction phase.
Regular monthly workshops with framework partners and specialists assist in the process of reviewing progress under the framework, assessing Key Performance Indicators and driving continuous improvement. |
