Leadbitter opened its doors to key business and community partners in Plymouth earlier this year in an attempt to facilitate stronger community relations.
The company’s Western Division teamed up with the international charity, Common Purpose, to showcase its work and provide an insight into the workings of the construction industry.
A nine-strong delegation from Plymouth City Council, Plymouth Foyer, the Regional Development Agency, Plymouth Marine Aquarium and community support organisation, Fata He, visited the Leadbitter’s Development Site in Devonport. It was an opportunity for leaders in these organisations to engage with Leadbitter and to understand what this sustainable development means for the future as well as for the community itself.
Dawn Prince-White, Programme Director, Common Purpose Devon, added: “Common Purpose creates better leaders across civil society. By engaging with organisations such as Leadbitter people get a sense of context and a clearer sense of the world in which we live and work.” |
